8 March 2017 The Human Rights Council in its midday meeting held a clustered interactive dialogue with John Knox, the Special Rapporteur on human rights and the environment, and Hilal Elver, the Special Rapporteur on the right to food. Mr. Knox, the Special Rapporteur on human rights and the environment, presented his report on the issue of human rights obligations relating to the conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity. The report underscored that the full enjoyment of human rights depended on healthy ecosystems, and healthy ecosystems depended on biodiversity.
